记述四邑庙（四邑会馆所属庙宇）重修经过与缘由的碑记文章
See Yup (Four Districts) refers to Sunwei/Xinhui, Toisan/Taishan, Kaiping, and Enping in Guangdong Province, China
慎終追遠
To honour the deceased and remember one’s ancestors is a core moral principle.
慎重對待喪祭，追念祖先，是重要的倫理觀念。
古訓昭然
This teaching has long been clearly established.
這是自古以來明確傳承的教誨。
見義勇為
Act Bravely for a Just Cause
為了正義勇於行動，
昔賢所示
was exemplified by virtuous figures of the past.
是前代賢者所樹立的榜樣。
況遠適異國
Especially for those who have travelled far to live in a foreign land,
更何況我們背井離鄉遠渡重洋，
尤宜互相扶持
mutual support becomes even more important.
更應彼此扶持。
客處他邦
Living as sojourners in another country,
客居異國他鄉，
共同守助
we must look after and support another together.
更要守望相助。
此我四邑之前賢
For this reason, the early forebears of the See Yup community
因此，我四邑地區的前輩先賢
乃有四邑會館聯設
came together to establish the See Yup Society.
聯合設立了四邑會館。
於一八五四年五月創始
It was founded in May 1854,
會館創立於1854年5月，
及一八六六年購地施工
and land was purchased and construction began in 1866.
並於1866年購地建廟。
廟貌巍峩
The temple stood grand in appearance,
廟宇外觀宏偉，
佇立於澳洲墨爾鉢之市南
located in the southern part of Melbourne, Australia.
坐落於澳大利亞墨爾本市南部。
垂訓規模
It served as a lasting model for moral instruction and community life.
成為教化後人的典範。
迄今已百二十七年有奇矣
By now, more than 127 years have passed.
至今已有一百二十七年之久。
歷代執事賢達
Successive generations of capable and respected leaders
歷代執事皆為賢達之士，
繫桑梓倫常之情
remained deeply connected to their homeland and moral ties.
心繫故土與人倫情義。
抱民胞物與之義
They upheld ideals of shared humanity and compassion for all beings.
秉持視人如己、關懷眾生的精神。
不獨為僑胞之光
They brought honour not only to the Chinese community,
不僅為僑胞爭光，
抑亦為西人所稱道也
but were also admired by the wider Western society.
也受到當地社會的讚譽。
惜因年湮代遠
Sadly, as time passed,
但隨著歲月流逝，
雨打風吹
the temple suffered from wind and rain,
經歷風吹雨打，
義祠有傾壞之虞
and the shrine faced the risk of structural damage.
義祠逐漸有損毀的危險。
廟堂有頹舊之狀
The temple buildings showed signs of decay.
廟堂日益破舊。
若不從速修理
If repairs were not carried out promptly,
如果不及時修繕，
斯座古色古香歷史悠久之文物遺跡
this historic and culturally significant site
這座古老而珍貴的歷史遺跡
必被政府強令拆卸
would inevitably be ordered for demolition by the authorities.
必將被政府強制拆除。
如此宏基我後輩豈容坐視任其倒塌耶
How could later generations allow such an important foundation to collapse?
如此重要的基業，後輩豈能坐視不理任由他倒塌？

乃於一九七三年七月間
Thus, in July 1973,

led by the then Society President, Mr Feng Hai,

together with executive officer Mr Zhao Yike and others,
以及值理趙乙科等人
召開四邑全體梓里大會
a general meeting of all See Yup compatriots was convened,
召開了四邑全體鄉親大會，
議決重修
where the decision to renovate was formally made.
並正式決定重修廟宇。
由每邑選出代表
Representatives were selected from each county,
由四邑各地選出代表，
組織重修委員會
forming a renovation committee
組成重修委員會
以司其事
to oversee and manage the project.
負責具體事務。
賴鄉君子之支持
With the support of respected community members,
在鄉紳與社區賢達的支持下，
各僑胞之贊助
and the generous donations of Chinese residents,
以及各位僑胞的捐助，
籌之
funds were planned,
進行籌劃，
募之
raised,
募集資金，
經之
administered,
加以管理，
營之
and put into action,
並付諸實施，
不日成之矣
and the restoration was soon completed.
工程很快順利完成。
今廟貌得見重光
Today, the temple has regained its former splendour,
如今廟宇重現光彩，
香火繼而延續
and worship and incense offerings continue unbroken.
香火得以延續。
我四邑梓里亦有憇遊之場所
Our See Yup community once again has a place to gather and rest.
四邑鄉親也重新擁有了聚會與歇息的場所。
然此乃羣策羣力之結晶
This achievement is the result of collective planning and effort,
然而這是一項群策群力的成果，
眾志成城之偉舉
a great undertaking made possible by unity of purpose.
是众志成城的伟大之举。
如此大德
For such great generosity and virtue,
如此深厚的功德，
豈敢或忘
how could we ever forget?
豈敢忘懷。
爰將捐輸五十元以上者芳名
Therefore, the names of those who donated fifty dollars or more

鏤銘金石
were engraved in metal
鐫刻於金石之上镌刻于金石之上
藏於廟壁
and placed within the temple walls,
並安置於廟宇墻壁之中，
以垂久遠爾
to be preserved and remembered for generations to come.
以流傳久遠。
